We offer a range of professional development opportunities for specific staff including senior managers, middle leaders and administrators.

We run ‘open’ courses on issues of relevance to education managers and can also deliver any HR related workshop ‘in-house’ to meet your individual requirements.

Topics for these courses include, for instance, best practice in managing:

• capability
• disciplinary
• grievance
• pay issues
• sickness absence
• social media
• appraisal processes (including objective setting, moderation and appeals)

In-house courses - we have successfully run a number of ‘in-house’ courses, eg in relation to appraisals and objective setting for appraisers and appraisees and understanding pay issues.


We deliver short sessions on HR issues to ensure best practice is being followed. Recent examples include:

• making effective use of occupational health referrals
• interpretation of fit notes
• dealing with flexible working requests
• pay and equality issues
• changes in employment relations

A hot buffet breakfast and the opportunity to meet and network with other colleagues are popular features of all our ‘open’ sessions.
